Background
Nile Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) is a private Research and non-profit training organization legally registered in South Sudan under Ministry of Health (Reg. Code NMOH/HSI-Private 007). Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, registration # 38,571 and is a member of the South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. It is compliant with all statutory documents.
Currently we have multidisciplinary consultants and researchers driven by passion to improve health services and create educational opportunities for all. Our fundamental goal is to ensure that every South Sudanese can live their best healthier life. In order to achieve our goal, we provide technical training assistance, humanitarian services and innovative management consultancy through incorporating a broad range of skills. Founded in 2021 and accredited by Ministry of health to award diploma in all medical courses. We collaborate with government, humanitarian agencies, Faith Based Organizations, private sector, and civil society organizations to identify and implement solution to health crisis. This partnership improves quality, equity and accessibility of health and education system for better health outcomes and self-reliance. We work with communities and various professionals to serve our clients better and understand those whom we serve.
Currently NIHS has total of 420 students (230 males and 190 females). In which 60 students in midwifery courses, 85 students in nurse course and 125 students in clinical medicine and public health, 60 students in Nutrition course and 80 students in public health courses. There were 18 lecturers/tutors, 6 specialist doctors, 4staff support and 7 board members. The administrative structure of Nile Institute composes of Director, Principal, Dean, Finance and admins and heads of departments.

Board of Directors statement
NIHS is managed by a Board of Directors who are experienced in the areas of health system strengthening, Technology, Business Management, Educational Service Management, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, among others. The BoD is the highest policy making body of the Institute. It comprises 7 members who meet at least three times a year.

We are private and independent but law-abiding training organization to the government and line ministries.

Preventive services
- Screening and awareness on communicable and non-communicable diseases and referral
- Provision of Sexual reproductive health and right services (sanitary pads, dignity kits and awareness of unwanted pregnancies STIs prevention)
- Gender Based Violence (GBV) preventive awareness
